Deicke Park Winter Engagement Session - Kim & Chad
First, a big thank you to Loreen at Clementine Custom Events for introducing me to Kim & Chad. The situation was a little unique, since in addition to wanting to meet me, the couple needed a few images for their save-the-dates. After getting to know one another, and acknowledging the fact it was 15-degrees outside, we decided to stop by Deicke Park in Huntley for a very quick (say 10 minutes), winter engagement session.
The Wit Hotel Chicago Wedding - Claudia & Erik
Claudia & Erik were a referral from, and I kid you not, a bride from the first year I photographed weddings. It was great to catch up with our mutual friend Jaclyn, and talk about how much has changed in 12 years. To give some perspective, I shot her wedding in 2002 on all 35mm film.
Shedd Aquarium Wedding - Jessica & Stephen
I'm happy to feature Jessica & Stephen's wedding images as my first new blog post. They were wonderful to photograph and simply to be around. They hosted their ceremony and reception at the Shedd Aquarium, and I was excited to photograph there again. Truly one of the premiere classic venues in Chicago!
Blue Harbor Resort Wedding - Andrea & Jeff
This was my first time photographing at the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan, WI, and I do hope it is not my last. I was amazed by the rocky Michigan shoreline, pristine beaches and grasslands, and of the course the restored historic hotel. Andrea & Jeff were an absolute delight to photograph.
Chicago History Museum Wedding - Laura & Chris
There were many elements that made Laura & Chris' wedding day simply perfect. First, they're the kind of people who have a wonderful way of blending class with playful goofiness. It made them truly fun to photograph and simply be around. We started the day off at the Thompson Chicago for their first look and initial portraits.
South Loop Chicago Engagement Session - Michelle & Charles
Michelle & Charles were truly fun photograph. I treat engagement sessions as an icebreaker with a new client. Almost no need for them, since being in front of the camera seemed to come naturally. They were just themselves, and took comfort in simply being with one another; advice I would give any of the couples I work with.
Punta Cana Trash the Dress - Jennifer & Chris
I was excited when Jennifer & Chris decided to have a trash-the-dress session during their Majestic Colonial Punta Cana destination wedding. They're an ambitious couple, so we scheduled it the very next morning after the big day. Morning photo sessions are definitely where it's at.
Punta Cana Destination Wedding - Jennifer & Chris
Under normal circumstances, I truly prefer to meet in person with potential couples before officially booking their wedding. I just feel developing a personal relationship with my clients lends to more dynamic, storytelling images. Also things can get lost in translation when solely using email, phone or even Skype to communicate.
Catalyst Ranch Wedding - Jenn & Len
Jenn and Len are full of energy, creative and simply fun to be around. I was beyond honored when she asked me to photograph their wedding. Truth be told, I never even heard of the Catalyst Ranch before their big day, but now it's one of my favorite venues in Chicago.
